Our Mission

After everything the world went through during the COVID pandemic, we were determined to create something positive. In 2023 we had the chance to make that happen, and our property became available for the first time. Listed was 45 acres of undeveloped, breathtakingly beautiful, lake front property right in Superior National Forest. When we saw it, we knew that it was the perfect place to start the camp we have been dreaming of.  With over a mile of Lake Vermilion shoreline, there is more than plenty of room to build the foundation for our non-profit. Our goal is to be able to give back to others by sharing the one thing that has given so much to us, the natural beauty of North Minnesota. We believe nothing is more healing than nature its self, and in today's ever expanding, and busy world it has become less present in most people's lives. Technology has its perks, don't get me wrong, but we believe in the necessity of disconnecting from our busy lives and reconnecting with nature.  Time spent in nature brings clarity, and reconnection with yourself and others. It can also ease stress, anxiety, and even PTSD. We decided to designate the nonprofit to disabled veterans because they have selflessly given so much for us, and we want to give back to them. We want a place they can come and reconnect with nature and heal. The best part of our organization is when guests book a site on our property, it is giving another veteran the opportunity to stay here. It is the perfect gift that keeps giving. Our goal is to be able to establish multiple primitive camping sites throughout our property, leaving plenty of room for a genuine camping experience. Since our camp sites are primitive, there will be minimal disruption to the current environment. We are not like the rest of the resorts or mega homes you can find on Lake Vermilion. Instead of  clearing a lot to put up big buildings to house people; our goal is to preserve our land, making the outdoors feel like home. You won't find a lot of the amenities you may find at the other resorts. There isn't WIFI, TVs, electricity, or running water for that matter. Our goal isn't to be another resort on the lake, but rather a place to escape from just that. A place to disconnect and feel truly free once again.

Although our intentions and goals may be straight forward, the process to create this dream has been just the opposite. Unfortunately, most of our time and money has been tied up in fighting for our own rights to pursue our mission; despite push back from wealthy landowners who do not want to "share" this little slice of heaven, and county officials who twist the laws and threaten to shut us down. However, we are not giving up, and are continuing to stand for our law given rights and for our mission.
